My sugar level is 350 after food. How can I reduce the sugar level?

Speaking from my personal experience. My HbA1C was 13.5 in 2012 and today in 2023 it is around 6.4. I had managed it to 6 last year.

The rules to reduction in your blood sugar are:

  1. Check if you have Hypothyroid or other auto immune conditions. They may cause elevation of blood sugar. It did for me. Once I managed Hypothyroid the sugar levels improved for the better
  2. Keep moving all the time. Dont sit beyond 20 minutes.
  3. Do pushups, squats, mountain climbers, jumping jacks and similar functional exercises for 40 minutes every morning. 7 days a week.
  4. Lift weights atleast 3 days a week
  5. Walk 45 minutes every day. Brisk walking in a park or quiet location
  6. Eat soaked almonds or cooked peanuts one large cup every morning with a large slice of unsalted butter
  7. Eat overnight soaked fenugreek 2 tablespoons first thing in the morning
  8. Avoid white sugar, bottled drinks, packed fruit juices and processed foods altogether.
  9. Spend time gardening atleast 15 minutes a day. Care for a plant.
  10. Listen to calming music and Avoid stress.
  11. Hydrate - avoid bottled water and drink boiled piped water
  12. Eat 2 large servings of vegetables for lunch along with a little rice. Add Ghee. for dinner eat a large bowl of uncooked vegetable salads with paneer. Your last meal of the day should be at 7pm. Sleep at 9.30 pm and get atleast 7 hours of quality sleep.
  13. Parboiled rice is good. Millets are good. Avoid maida. Use less salt.
  14. Avoid vegetable oils. Coconut oil and gingelly oil are good.
  15. Eat atleast one brazil nut a day - it contains selenium
  16. Always check your vitamin D levels. vitamin D should be taken with K2 vitamin. Otherwise it wont be absorbed.
  17. Take a blood test that covers lipid, blood sugar, hba1c, vitamin d, renal, liver, heart function once every 3 months and record it. Once your blood sugar after meal drops to 140 levels start taking blood tests once every 6 months. Today blood tests are affordable at only rs.1200 or so for all the above

Your current level of 350 post meal is very high. So you must check with your doctor and follow his instructions as far as meds are concerned.

Wish you good health and a long life!
